As with last year’s FIFA, the Xbox 360 version takes 2% more of the unit sales than the PS3; with Microsoft’s console managing 48% of the sales, the PS3 taking 46% and the remaining 6% split between PS2, PSP, PC, and Wii. Last year, the smaller formats took a much bigger 18% chunk out of the share of the next-gen consoles FIFA 09 sales.
Impressively, Professor Layton and Pandora’s Box actually holds on to the 2nd place spot in its second week, staying a mere 300 sales ahead of Halo 3: ODST which drops 75% in sales and falls to No.3.
Wii Sports Resort also stays steady at No.5 thanks to a 33% jump in sales due to the new £179.99 Wii Console bundle that comes with the game. Meanwhile, MySims Agents sneaks up into the top 10 in its second week, climbing seven places to No.7.
The launch of the PSPGo hasn’t really had an impact on this retail sales chart, as it’s a digital-only handheld, but Gran Turismo on UMD managed to enter in at No.12.
The other two new entries this week are Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3 at No.23 and Risen on PC and Xbox 360 at No.26.
The biggest climber this week is Wolfenstein, moving up ten places to No.28 (perhaps helped by being featured on Charlie Brooker’s Gameswipe?). The biggest loser is Aion, which plummets twenty-one places to end up at No.32.
