Nintendo planning huge marketing campaign for DSi
Do you still know people who don’t know what Nintendo is, have never heard of a DSi, and still refuse to train different parts of their body? Well it seems that will last no longer, as Nintendo have said they are putting together one of their biggest marketing campaigns yet to get in everyone’s face about the DSi.
“DSi will be our biggest handheld hardware launch to date and will easily be our biggest campaign this year,” reveals DSi senior product manager James Honeywell in the latest issue MCV. “We have already planned out activity throughout the whole year as we plan to drive awareness and communication right through to Christmas.”
“During the initial launch phase we will be mainly focused on TV aimed at a mass market audience, but we will support this with a large online campaign designed to drive pre-order and awareness in the gaming community. On top of all this activity we will be offering extensive in-store promotion and also running national experiential events to ensure that consumers can get their hands on the hardware before they buy.”
DSi is coming out in exactly one week from today on April 3rd. Only White and Black colour options are available at launch. I want a Blue one personally, do you hear that Nintendo?
