More people have viewed Pewdiepie’s videos than exist on Planet Earth

Some may like what he does, and some may be very vocal that they do not, but there is no denying the fact that Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg has cultivated quite a following – enough for sites like this one to write a news story about him every now and then. The story this time is that the Swedish personality has broke the record of having the largest number of total views for any Youtube channel – not just a gaming one.

He is the first and only YouTube channel to hit a total of 10billion views – that’s 10,000,000,000 views. He is quickly on the way to having 40M subscribers too. At the time of writing, he sits at 39,164,700M – although that number is probably already out of date the second I publish this story,

Tubefilter has taken the time to breakdown his success. PewDiePie’s first video was published back in October 2, 2010. He currently has 2,475 videos uploaded. That means he is uploading over one video a day, and at least two videos every weekday. Furthermore, the average Pewdiepie video hits 4.04 million views, and his most successful video has hit a high of 68.8M views. Why not view Pewdiepie’s most successful video?

If the 13.8 billion year history of the universe was mapped onto a single year – as popularized by Carl Sagan – meaning the Big Bang takes place on January 1 at midnight, and the current time is December 31 at midnight, that would mean 10,000,000,000 people watched Pewpiepie’s videos in less than a femtosecond. You cannot deny fact, and you cannot disagree with Carl Sagan.

Meanwhile, DarkZero’s own compilation of Cars 2 gameplay in glorious HD remains the most viewed gaming video on the whole of Youtube. It recently broke the 120M view barrier – that’s 120,000,000 views. You can view that here. Like Mr. Pewdiepie, people have also took the time to write about that one. Many other people just speculate and wonder.
