Life is Strange is going to Japan with official dub. What’s Japanese for Hella?

Many have been enjoying Life is Strange in western countries since the start of 2015 – enough to sell one million copies in fact. Episode One: Chrysalis was first made available on 30th January 2015. Since then, three more episodes have been released, with around 2 months between each episode. Fans are already getting excited for the upcoming Episode Five – which is still undated, but that has not stopped people speculating and hoping.

The only language Life is Strange currently fully supports is english – with full english audio, interface and subtitles available. Other regions have less options. For example, if you want to play in french, the game retains English audio, but will display french subtitles along with a french interface. The upcoming japanese release will be the first time the game gets wholly updated for another region – audio, interface, subtitles, and all.

The full extent of the update, and the players involved are still unknown, but Max Caulfield’s Japanese voice work will be done by Kumi Tanaka. Max was voiced by Hannah Telle in the English release. Chloe Price, who was voice by Ashly Burch in the English version, is being voiced by Lynn in Japan. Both of these actresses have worked on video games in the past, along with a selection of anime release – both Kumi and Lynn had roles in Fire Emblem Awakening.
