Microsoft planning “a new game in the Halo universe”

Signs point to Microsoft planning a new game in the Halo series as the franchise moves away from Bungie after Halo 3: ODST.

First hints of the new title come from an advert placed on Gamasutra, with Microsoft asking for a “seasoned game developer” to join Microsoft Games Studios to “help develop a new game in the Halo universe.“

The advert goes on to remark that a successful applicant will “work directly with the design team to spec, schedule and implement the AI systems for the game. You will be directly responsible for both the low level systems and the high level behavior features.”

There is a chance the advert could be asking for help in the upcoming  Halo 3: ODST, although the wording in the ad states that this is a “new game,” and the reluctance to mention Halo 3: ODST by name, seems to hint something new is on the way.

Furthermore, another job ad, for a different position on the team, remarks the upcoming Halo game will be a “new experience.”
