Xbox 360 Wireless Worries

Reports have sprung up today that in America, Walmart – known as asda in our neck of the woods, have had to switch off Xbox 360 demo pods. The reason for this being that the wireless signal sent out by the 360 is interfering with the company’s own systems.

The system operates on 2.4 ghz wireless signal, a signal which is quite common among cordless phones and routers. The problem exists as the networks used by Walmart and the hand bar code scanner you see being used by till cashiers are on a wireless network, which clashes when xbox 360’s are switched on.

According to various reports, a solution has already been created and is being tested as we speak. It will be interesting to see whether any of these problems flare up when the xbox 360 is released.
