WoW Meltdown For China

The9 Limited, Chinese operator of World of Warcraft, is facing a mutiny from its own customers. According to reports in China, thousands of gamers are threatening to boycott the game due to technical glitches on servers. One gamer posted on a forum, “We cannot stand the unstable and busy servers any more and should join up to take action now.” Others complain of sudden disconnections and long waiting times. Many are suggesting quitting the game in protest.

A spokesperson for The9 said, “We should first collect relevant data and evidence, and will work together with Blizzard to look into this.” In China, WoW in China attained peak users of approximately 530,000 in the fourth quarter of 2005.
