Work on Gears of War 2 finished, it has gone gold

Microsoft have just tossed out a press release to the American press to tell them that Gears of War 2 has gone gold. This means the game is now merrily on its way to get printed ahead of its worldwide release on November 7.

“After two years of pouring our heart and passion into ‘Gears of War 2,’ the team is immensely happy with what we’ve created,” said Epic Games Design Director Clifford Michael Bleszinski. “This is Epic’s best work yet, and we can’t wait to see the response from fans and newcomers to the series alike.”

The original sold 5 million copies worldwide, so we are sure both Microsoft and Epic Games are hoping for similar success this time round.
