Wii Sports Resort and MotionPlus hits Japan in June July US/Euro

Nintendo have repeatedly dodged the question every time they were asked lately, but now Reuters report that both Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus will launch concurrently in Japan this June. They go onto say that it will ship worldwide in July. The news apparently comes direct from Nintendo, so we can take it as official confirmation

Wii Sports Resort is the follow up to Wii Sports. At last years E3 Nintendo boasted that the new version is “literally a day at the beach,” with a sword-fighting game, a jet-ski game, a frisbee throwing game, and a few more minigames on the disc.

The game will be built around showcasing Wii MotionPlus, which attaches to the end of the Wiimote. When it is combined with the accelerometer already in the Wiimote, and with the sensor bar, Nintendo boasts it allows for more comprehensive tracking of a player’s arm position and orientation, which will offers players “unmatched precision and immersion”.
