UK Sales Chart – Week ending June 7th

There are four new entries to the chart this week. Lego Indiana Jones has been released on every format known to man (well, seven formats) and looks set to emulate the success of the Lego Star Wars titles as it has entered the chart at number 1. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Wii version of the game has sold the best, with the 360 version not far behind.

1. Lego Indiana Jones: Original Adventures (Traveller’s Tales)
2. Grand Theft Auto IV (Rockstar North)
3. Race Driver: GRID (CodeMasters)
4. Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games (Sega)
5. Wii Play (Nintendo)
6. Ninja Gaiden II (Team Ninja)
7. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo)
8. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (Konami Digital)
9. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Infinity Ward)
10. FIFA 08 (EA Canada)
11. Dragonball Z: Burst Limit (Dimps)
12. Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training (Nintendo)
13. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Neversoft)
14. Sports Island (Hudson)
15. Haze (Free Radical Design)
16. Sega Superstars Tennis (Sumo Digital)
17. Carnival: Funfair Games (Cat Daddy)
18. Quake Wars: Enemy Territory (Nerve Software)
19. UEFA Euro 2008 Austria-Switzerland (EA Canada)
20. Rock Band (Harmonix)

The second new entry is Ninja Gaiden II; this must come as a relief to Tecmo, as they must have expected sales of the title to suffer after Itagaki’s high profile resignation.

Anime fans seem to be relishing the chance to go all Super Saiyan, but Dragonball Z didn’t quite manage to break into the top 10.

Hudson’s Sports Island (known as Deca Sports outside Europe) has successfully appealed to casual gamers who loved Wii Sports and are looking for more, despite being almost universally slated as a mediocre title.

Rock Band sales have dropped since last week, but the highly-priced musical ‘sim’ managed to cling onto a place in the Top 20.

Sales of Call of Duty 4 don’t seem to be slowing even after the game hit the 10 million mark recently. Is 11 million far off?

Plummeting is the word to describe sales of Haze. It seems that someone has been reading the reviews like this.
