Nintendo have now dominated the top of the charts for a total of 15 weeks so far this year, and this week Wolfenstein (Voolfenshteen?) was only kept off the No.1 spot by a margin of 2,000 sales. It may come as some consolation for Activision that their Flying SuperNazi murder simulator was the bestselling game this week on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
The short-lived English cricket fever is practically over it seems, as sales of Ashes Cricket 2009 plummet 56%, but it still clings on to No.3 this week, before its inevitable descent out of the Top 40 begins.
Activision has equalled Nintendo in another way however, as both companies now have three titles in the Top 10, after price promotions see both Call of Duty: World at War and [PROTOTYPE] move up to No’s 5 and 10 respectively.
Nintendo’s Wii Fit and Mario Kart Wii are still selling strongly, each only slipping one position to No.4 and No.7 respectively. Madden NFL is doing less well in its second week, with sales dropping 43%, and falling nine places to No.16.
The biggest climber this week is actually Resident Evil 5, which re-appears from outside of the Top 40 at No.31. The biggest loser is Rhythm Paradise, which fell ten places to No.39.
UFC 2009: Undisputed was at No.8 just three weeks ago, but has disappeared from the Top 40 this week, along with Football Manager 2009 and Virtua Tennis 2009.
