Toshiba Gigabeat

Although, Toshiba has actually been supplying Apple with hard drives for their iPod, they have decided to jump on the bandwagon and produce their own portable mp3 player.

Their new Toshiba Gigabeat doesn’t do much different, but it seems that what it does do, it does well. There will be four versions avaliable, in four different sizes 10, 20, 40 and 60GB.

It’s appearance certianly does not dissappoint either. It comes with a large 2.2″ inch QVGA colour LCD and a polished chrome finish.

The Gigabeat will support the main audio formats; mp3, wma and wav. However, users of iTunes may not be too pleased to see aac not included on the list. The Gigabeat will also be able to view photos and other picture files.

The Gigabeat also has a battery life of 16 hours per charge, which is pretty decent, and gives people another reason to splash out, when it hits these shores in June.
