Top 10 Selling Games in the UK for the First Week of September

Last week DarkZero brought you the top 10 selling games for the week ending on the 29th of August, well we’re back and this time it’s for the week ending on the 5th of September. What’s changed? Well two new games, Metal Gear Solid V and Mad Max, have claimed first and second place respectively. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and Until Dawn have moved down the list to third and fourth place, while Batman: Arkham Knight managed to grapple its way into tenth. Poor Madden NFL 16 and Dishonoured: Definitive Edition only managed to spend one week in the top 10 and have now been vanquished from the list. Finally last week I thought to myself that one of the two Minecraft editions in the top 10 would be pushed off the list by the influx of new games. Oh but how wrong I was, instead the PlayStation edition retains its eighth place title while the Xbox edition moves up from tenth place to claim ninth. Anyway here’s the list so you can see for yourself.

1:         Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (NEW)

2:         Mad Max (NEW)

3:         Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

4:         Until Dawn

5:         Disney Infinity 3.0

6:         Grand Theft Auto V

7:         Lego Jurassic World

8:         Minecraft: PlayStation Edition

9:         Minecraft: Xbox Edition

10:       Batman: Arkham Knight

If you want to check out the other games in the top 40 list you can do so here, but I’ll give you a quick rundown. Games like Far Cry 4, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Fifa 15 are moving down the list. Oddly enough the older Call of Duty: Ghosts gained a higher ranking on the list, along with the likes of Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. The two games with the biggest risk of being pushed off of next week’s list are Rugby World Cup 2015 and God of War III: Remastered which are in positions 39 and 40 respectively. What happened to the two games in 39 and 40 from last week? Well Project Cars, which was in 40, made an astounding recovery and is now sitting in 14th place, Bloodborne was not so lucky and is now entirely gone from the list.
