Time Magazine Take a Dig At Second Life

Although you may have been Time magazines person of the year back in 2006, it now seems Time no longer like you at all. In fact, in their latest write-up they seem to be very angry and you, and all the things you do. Their main point of contention seems to be certain website communities such as eHarmony, MySpace, Evite.com, and Meez.com, but the one we are reporting on is the other online colossus known as Second Life, they really don’t like that.

They report that on the service “you interact in the space through an avatar, but creating and personalizing this animated representation of yourself is tedious. Movements feel clunky and there can be a terrible lag” but due to “the corporate world’s embrace of the place as a venue for staff meetings and training sessions does seem to lend Second Life a layer of legitimacy. But maybe it’s a case of some CEOs trying too hard to be hip.
