THQ’s Smackdown vs. Raw Unveiled
Today THQ unveiled the latest addition the Smackdown brand, curiously named WWE Smackdown! vs. Raw. This is the sixth installment of the series and should hit PS2 consoles late 2004. Not much info has been given other than the tile will still be developed by the team at Yuke’s. A slight graphical update is certain as that happen almost every year as the dev team try and push the PS2 to its limits. New options and games modes should be a certainty also.
Now this is where it gets slightly confusing so bear with me, due to the PS2 getting the Raw name in its game the Xbox now gets a new title, but when I say new I really don’t mean new! In fact it gets what was once the GameCube exclusive title, namely the WrestleMania series, but with an all new developer at the helm (Studio Gigante of Tao Feng fame). So come March 2005 you should all be playing WrestleMania XXI on you Xbox as the game is seclude to launch to coincide with the event.
The GameCube now gets the previously announced title WWE Day of Reckoning, which we already know about. This title should be shown behind closed doors at E3 to select members of the media and should be on shelves come the end of the year.
The last title THQ announced is WWE Survivor Series for the GBA which should also hit shelves come the end of the year; no more info was given on this title.
