SquareEnix royally screw up Last Remnant PC

Eurogamer are reporting that The Last Remnant on PC is currently having huge issues. In fact, the problems are so big that at the time of writing the game cannot be played by anyone that went out to buy it today, which is the game’s official Euro launch.

The problems revolve around Steam, which seems to think the game does not exist yet, and as a result it cannot be registered to be played.

Anyone that put the registration code found on the back of the manual into Steam gets greeted by the following message: “The Last Remnant has not been officially released, and cannot be unlocked at this time. Please check Steam news to find out the release time. Steam will notify you when the game becomes unlocked.”

9th April is the day the game launches on Steam as a digital download, so it seems users may have to wait until that date until the service allows them to play. However, people who went out to buy a copy today wont be too happy with that.

Obviously this all could have been avoided if Square and Valve sorted things out before release, but it seems something sliped through the cracks.
