Soulcalibur IV PS3 could use 9GB of HDD space Update

A tech spec update on Yes Asia has revealed that the PS3 version of Soul Calibur 4 could use just under 9GB of you hard-drive space should be feel like partaking in some brawling. According to the site 6.7GB’s will be used solely for installing the game, which if true makes it the biggest install that a PS3 game has needed yet. Another 2GB’s will apparently be needed to save the game.

Seeing as this is an update on a retail site it has not yet being confirmed by Namco, so should be taken rumour for the time been. However, as with most rumours their could be some speck of truth to base it of.

To find out if it is indeed fact we’ve tossed an email to Namco’s inbox to see if they have anything to say on the matter. We’ll update this news should we get a reply back on the matter.

Update: Namco have replied to Kotaku regarding questions about the install/save size and have said “Those numbers are not accurate and are significantly overblown. The actual amount of space for the Soulcalibur IV install and save data file are inline with other games requiring this feature.” The rep however refused to give a more accurate number to fully quash the rumour.

Namco have still not contacted us though, which obviously means they hate us.
