Sonic Boom was not fully exterminated, and is on its way back to 3DS

Watch out! There is a new Sonic Boom game coming. It is called Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, and it is for the 3DS. This newest title in the franchise will build off of the Cartoon Network series. It certainly will not build from the previous game, as that was a vacuous black hole of despair.

This new game will have Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks to play with. Sticks debuted in the original Sonic Boom – I know this fact yet can live with myself daily without crying. The game will be developed by Sanzaru Game, who worked on the previous handheld effort. They also worked on The Sly Collection and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time a few years back

John Cheng, President and COO of SEGA of America said the following with a straight face

We really want this game to surprise and delight Sonic fans both new and old, and have created a unique, fun game that delivers. By introducing unique elemental gameplay features like ice and fire, along with new speed and exploration gameplay, there is a lot to enjoy with Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice.

The original  Sonic Boom was a game labeled by some as the worst Sonic game they ever played. Review copies were held back by Sega, as they knew they had birthed something truly awful.

Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will launch Holiday 2015, likely to ruin Christmas for all and make children suffer.

Or maybe it will make amends for the original?
