Polyphony Move To Motorbikes With Tourist Trophy

The next game from the guys who brought us Gran Turismo won’t be a Gran Turismo game. Polyphony Digital has announced a motorcycle simulator titled Tourist Trophy The Real Riding Simulator for PS2. The title promises to do to two wheels what Gran Turismo did to four.

Polyphony seems to be going all out with this one, with a collection of bikes from big bike makers like Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. The developer is even including real life suits and helmets.

The confirmed list of bikes as off now are

Honda CBR600RR
Honda NSR250R SE
Honda CB750F
Honda CBR1100XX
Yamaha YZF R-1
Yamaha MT 01
Yamaha TZR 250 SPR
Yamaha Grand Majesty 250
Kawasaki ZRX1200R
Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R
Suzuki GSX1400
Suzuki Hayabusa
Suzuki GSX-R600

Even though the list above is impressive the final selection promises even more models including a small number of motorcycles from the 80s, although most of the bikes will be from the 90s to the present day. The only courses revealed as of now are Tsukuba and Fuji Raceway, both of which are in also in the Gran Turismo titles. Expect highly realistic handling and tuning to play a big part in the title as well. No release date has been set for the title yet but we expect mid-late 2006.
