Paperboy Is This Weeks XBLA Release

Gamerscoreblog has revealed the this Wednesdays Xbox Live Arcade release will be the 80’s arcade classic Paperboy, from Digital Eclipse/Midway. Paperboy was first released way back in 1984 – that’s 23 years ago! In the game the player controls a paperboy on a bicycle delivering newspapers along a suburban street attempting to deliver a week of daily newspapers to subscribing customers along with attempting to vandalize non-subscriber’s homes and of course must avoid hazards along the street while doing so.

It has being revealed that the game will contain seven stages – one for each day of the week and 3 levels of difficulty – Easy Street, Middle Road or Hard Way. New to the game is Xbox Live multiplayer with the standard multiplayer mode involving two player co-op play which can take place on the same console or over Xbox Live. Also new as you would expect is those familiar leaderboards and those lovely Achievements. The game contains 12 of them and 200 Gamerscore points are available to be won if you put some time in.

Paperboy will be available worldwide for 400 Microsoft Points and Rated E for Everyone as it only contains Mild Animated Violence. This apparently is the kind of violence which will not affect your mind in any way and will not make you beat people with rolled up copies of The Sunday Times.
