NoE drop a lot of fire red then leaf green on us

Since first appearing back in 1996, the Pokémon series has metamorphosised from mere hit game series into its current status as an unstoppable phenomenon of popular culture. Various editions of the game have appeared on Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64 with a version of the title even making its debut on Nintendo GameCube earlier this year, in the guise of Pokémon Colosseum.

Now the Western world is gearing up for the release of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen later this year on Nintendo Game Boy Advance – and small wonder. The titles were first released in Japan earlier this year, and by March 31 both games had sold a staggering 2.19 million copies between them. Wherever you come from, that’s a whole lot of battling.

We fully expect to see a continent of Poké-fans go ga-ga across Europe when FireRed and LeafGreen are released on October 1.

The NoE site also advises they have a lot of info for the European versions to follow between now and then so keep tuned for all the latest
