No DS or Wii price drop planned


Nintendo has today confirmed they are happy to make yet more money from you and I, and have commented they have no plans to cut the prices of the Wii and DS this year. The ‘It Print Money’ revelation was made by Nintendo President Satoru Iwata at an analyst meeting on Friday.

He comments “Our earnings projection for the year is not based on hardware price cuts, and I don’t think we are going to need them.

Yesterday, Nintendo commented that the Wii sold 18.61 million units in 2007, taking its lifetime total to 24.45 million, and the DS sold 30.31 million units in 2007, notching up its lifetime total to 70.6 million.
