Nintendo reveals the Wii Vitality Sensor

Nintendo President Satoru Iwata revealed yet another peripheral for the Wii console, only this one is difficult to discern a use for. The Wii Vitality Sensor is a finger-worn pulse reader that plugs into the Nunchuk port on the Wii Remote.

Apparently, the thinking behind it was to help visualise the internal feelings of the user, and thus assist them in achieving greater relaxation… No potential gameplay uses were shown or even mentioned.

Chalk this down as one of the more bizarre and pointless E3 announcements.
