Nintendo Gamecube shortages

Reuters reports that Nintendo, which stopped production on its GameCube video game console due to slack demand, has now nearly sold out of the console in the USA.

Nintendo spokeswoman Perrin Kaplan says; “I’d say about 50 percent of our stores are out” but confirms Nintendo are actively working to solve the situation by re-allocating stock and boosting production facility to full capacity in Japan.

Kaplan also commented that January hardware sales were up 60 percent year-over-year; and January software sales were up 101 percent.
