Nintendo exodus continues?

IGNcube has just posted the following
“April 14, 2004 – In a conversation with IGNcube today, Factor 5 president Julian Eggebrecht said the company would not develop any more titles for Nintendo’s GameCube console. The studio is currently creating software for other platforms.
Eggebrecht would not say what titles were in development at Factor 5 nor would he talk specifically about what platform they might appear on. However, at the Game Developers Conference 2004 Eggebrecht was spotlighted as one of the studio heads very keen on Sony PSP development
The Factor 5 president told IGNcube that no software from the San Rafael-based software house would be previewed at the forthcoming Electronics Entertainment Expo 2004, which kicks off this May in Los Angeles“
But what exactly does it means, we know Factor 5 have will no longer produce games for the GameCube Console but is the just reiterating something we already knew, people where expecting a Pilotwings game but that was never confirmed that was just a rumor, wasn’t it? Will they come back to Nintendo for the next-generation of consoles. Who knows!!
Will their Rouge Squadron games now migrate to other console, namely the PS2 and Xbox or will that RebelX rumor now become truth? Even the PSP now seems to be getting in on a piece of the Factor 5 cake, but what game have they planed for it, if any?
But with all these big name companies suddenly leaving surly something big must be happening inside Nintendo headquarters, why the big shake up all of a sudden, Whatever happens it is bound to be interesting and as we venture into E3 everyday is throwing up something new, the next month will be very exciting you can bet on that!
Update
Just to clear some stuff up, we now have some new info. The reason Factor 5 will not support GameCube anymore is simple, they do not have anymore games planed, they will still support Nintendo (The GCNext and possibly the DS), but they do not wish to put any more effort into making GameCube games.
Factor 5 has always been a free company they where not paid just to work with Nintendo they infact chose to develop some of their games just for Nintendo as they found the console easy to work with it.
So to sum it up, Factor 5 are still with Nintendo and find the next-gen consle “promising” but we wont see any of there games for a few years, they may be infact making games right now for the GCNext or the DS but simply haven told us yet) and we could possibly see their on other consoles.
But that is the way it always has been, so technically nothing has changed in the last 24 hours, Factor 5 will still support what ever console they wish, Factor 5 is not abandoning Nintendo and IGN still practice “Sensational Journalism”.
