Next Tomb Raider movie is an “origin story” to reboot the series

Producer of the Termination Salvation film, Dan Lin, has confirmed he will be working on a new Tomb Raider film in the future, one that focuses on a a younger version of Lara Croft.

“We’re rebooting Lara Croft. Really excited – it’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell. A very character-oriented I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies,” he remarks to About.com.

“I would say it’s like Terminator – character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character.”

The revelation came during the premiere of Terminator: Salvation, which is why you see the weird Terminator reference.
