New PSP To Launch In Europe First

With the original, and for the time been current, PSP retailing for £129.99/€169.99, Sony have announced that the new 19% slimmer, and 33% lighter slim PSP – that will be shiped with 3.60 firmware – will be hitting the Euro market first, even before it arrives in Japan. The unit will retail at the same price as the original with David Reeves saying “It will come out at 169 Euros in all the PAL territories at the beginning of September.” The new PSP is currently set to launch in Japan on September 20, a US date has yet to be set.

Another spokesperson for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed the story to GI.biz by commenting, “As David said in his speech last week, the new PSP will launch in early September and will be the same price as the existing one..”
