New Oblivion Expansion Incoming

The clever folks at Bethesda today announced they are planning to release The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, an official expansion for the award-winning The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion very, very soon. They boast that Shivering Isles will allow players the opportunity to explore an entirely new plane of Oblivion… the realm on Sheogorath, the Daedric Prince of Madness . We must admit all this sounds very an exciting in a “you shall not pass” fantasy kind of way!

Split into to two sides, Mania and Dementia, Sheogorath’s Realm promises to be a bizarre, twisting landscape featuring more than 30 hours of new gameplay as well as new enemies, new weapons, spells and armour. “The enthusiastic response we’ve received to our downloadable content has been overwhelming, and we’re excited to bring Oblivion fans a full expansion,” said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. “The world we’ve created for Shivering Isles is unlike anything you’ve seen or played in Oblivion and we can’t wait for folks to play it.

For those rushing to a nearby calendar to mark a date then please slow down… as of the time of writing Shivering Isles has only been given the rather broad date of March 2007.
