Microsoft reveals Xbox 360 Games on Demand line-up and pricing
Microsoft has revealed the launch line-up for full Xbox 360 Games On Demand, which will launch with the latest dashboard update next Tuesday 11th August.
Most of the titles are no surprise, but there are a few omissions of titles such as Colin McRae DiRT, Crackdown and Bioshock that were previously promised for the service. There will probably be no tears shed over the lack of Sonic the Hedgehog though…
Here follows the full list:
- Assassin’s Creed
- Need for Speed: Most Wanted
- Burnout Paradise
- Perfect Dark Zero
- Call of Duty 2
- Prey
- Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
- Rockstar Games Presents Table Tennis
- Fight Night Round 3
- SEGA Rally
- Kameo: Elements of Power
- Test Drive: Unlimited
- LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas
- Mass Effect
- Tomb Raider: Legend
- Meet The Robinsons
- Viva Piñata
- MX vs. ATV Untamed
- Viva Piñata 2: Trouble in Paradise
- Need for Speed Carbon
America is getting a few more games in addition to these such as Bioshock, Ridge Racer 6, Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Karaoke Revolution American Idol Encore, and of course Sonic the Hedgehog.
Microsoft says that the games will cost between 1600 – 2400 MS Points, and that Games on Demand can be purchased directly with a credit card, rather than using silly points. In real money this will translate to around £13.60 – £20.40, although individual pricing for each title has not yet been revealed.
As downloadable games are still yet to undercut retail in the pricing stakes, it’s up to consumers to decide whether they’d rather have the convenience of digitally distributed games, or the satisfaction of a physical product that can be sold or traded for profit.
