Manhunt 2 Cleared For US Release

Rockstar has announced that Manhunt 2 will finally be hitting stores in the US, and is set for a release in the territory this October. The release announcement comes as the ESRB re-rated the game after Rockstar submitted a modified version of the original product. The new version of the game has been rated M, which is a great deal better for the company than the Adults Only stamp the older version received.

Manhunt 2 is important to us, and we’re glad it can finally be appreciated as a gaming experience,” said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. “We love the horror genre. Manhunt 2 is a powerful piece of interactive story telling that is a unique video game experience. We think horror fans will love it.”

It is currently unknown how this will affect the UK release, as it is still up to the BBFC or PEGI to clear the game for its Euro and UK release. However, over the last few years it has became noticeable that the ESRB has been more stringent with their ratings that their Euro equivalent. As a result the game should also be cleared for release over here some time in the future.
