Latest Wiimote Design Revealed

The latest, and possibly final, design of Nintendo’s affectionately nicknamed ‘Wiimote’ freehand controller has been revealed, showing the newly integrated speaker and new Wii branding. Also, some of the buttons have been renamed, with start and select being replaced with + and – symbols, x and y becoming 1 and 2, and Z1 and Z2 on the nunchuck add-on changing into Z and C respectively. The in-built speaker has already been demonstrated to provide a ‘depth of sound’ effect from the controller to the television, and combined with the internal rumble feature and 3D motion sensor produces quite a complex bit of kit for such a small device. The nunchuck was also described as having an in-built motion sensor, so even more posibilities now present themselves to game developers to (hopefully) work wonders with.
