Guitar Hero: World Tour DLC to work with Guitar Hero 5

Via a press release to officially announce Guitar Hero 5, Activision and Neversoft have confirmed that almost all downloadable tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour will also work with Guitar Hero 5 when released.

“[D]ownloadable content from Guitar Hero World Tour will be compatible with the game and will automatically be updated to include all of the upgrades and enhancements of Guitar Hero 5,” comments the press release.

However, the PR goes onto reveal that the option “does not apply to a limited number of songs.”

We are guessing this will not be because of a gameplay problem, and is more likely due to Activision having trouble re-acquiring the rights to one or two of the bigger bands.
