Gran Turismo HD: A Microtransactional Hell

1up are reporting that that the upcoming Gran Turismo HD on PS3 will offer gamer two different modes of play. The first, entitled Gran Turismo HD: Premium will be more or less a demo of Gran Turismo 5 with 30 included cars and two tracks included in the game. Two more tracks and 30 extra cars can be purchased and downloaded for this version.

Now here is the fun part…

The other mode available is Gran Turismo HD: Classic. In this game players will reportably start with no cars and no tracks. From this great starting point gamers must indulge in the greatness that are microtransactions and pick what cars they want to buy. The pricing reported in the latest edition of Famitsu indicates that cars would cost between 50-100 yen ($0.43-$0.85) and courses between 200-500 yen ($1.71-$4.26). There are approximately 750 cars and 50 tracks available for purchase in the GT: HD Classic meaning if anyone wants to have access to everything the game has to offer they will have to past almost $1000 in real money.

It is right now at the end of this news piece that I would love to use a myriad of expletives to sum up how I am feeling…but I won’t. GRASSHOLES!
