Gamerscore/Achievements getting reset on 360, panic ensues

Head over to the Xbox 360 support forums, and everyone is in a panic.

Why? Well, it seems Gamerscores and Achievements are getting reset if you are playing online right now. No one seems fully sure what is happening – but many hope the fault is temporary.

“I was just playing Halo Reach with a friend of mine while suddenly an achievement popped up. I pressed to xbox button to see what achievement it was and suddenly I realised all my other achievements were gone! I only have 15G (that one achievement) left while I lost over 52K gamerscore. What kind of weird bug is this and is anyone else facing the same problem?” comments VinMos8, which sums up the problem everyone seems to be having.

Other users seem to be less calm about things.

Xbox Support have been tweeting the following two fixes. “Try re-downloading the profile and see if that helps” and “Try re-downloading the profile and see if that helps.” Hopefully that helps those affected.

Xbox Support has not revealed what caused the reset as of yet.
