Welcome Rainbow Mika to Street Fighter V

The PlayStation Blog has just announced that fan favourite Street Fighter character Rainbow Mika will be joining the roster of playable characters in Capcom’s upcoming Street Fighter V. Rainbow Mika has only made one other appearance in the Street Fighter series, which was in Street Fighter Alpha 3. Mika is a young wrestler who is following in her idols (Zangeif) footsteps to become a star of the ring. In order to spread her name and popularity Mika has been travelling the world, with her trainer, engaging in fights with random street fighters.

In Street Fighter V Mika will wow the crowd with a variety of high-flying wrestling moves. She has also brought along her tag-team partner, Nadeshiko, to help her out in fights. Mika can call on her partner to deliver high-flying attacks on her opponents from multiple angles in order to keep them confused. Rainbow Mika also brings her microphone to every fight which allows her to deliver a monologue to the crowd by holding down certain buttons. The longer the monologue goes on for the stronger her normal and special throws become. Mika will also be able to withstand one attack from her opponent while delivering a monologue and if the player releases all buttons at once she will stop speaking and throw her microphone at whoever she’s fighting.

Street Fighter V is being developed by Capcom for the PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows. It will be the fifth main entry in the series and will hopefully come out in March 2016. Unlike previous Street Fighter games Capcom will not be releasing updated versions of Street Fighter V, instead you’ll only need to purchase your original copy of the game and that will receive updates over the internet. The beta for the game was available exclusively on PS4 during summer 2015.
