Haste – Demo on Steam

Do you like the pull and push of fighting games? The jabs and pokes as you try to open your opponent into a world of hurt via punishing combos. How about the uncertainty and ease of execution of card games? The luck of the draw, sure, but also doing what you can with what you’re given and baiting out big plays with sly bluffs. HASTE has it all. Combined into a crazy real-time explosion of adrenaline-fuelled quick decision making and character-based deck building.

Resident Evil (8) Village – Demo on Steam

Sky Beneath – Demo on Steam

A mind-bending physics-defying puzzle platformer that works very similarly to the fantastic Gravity Rush. Compete in time trials, discover secrets, and make Isaac Newton’s head spin in this narrative focused sci-fi story.

Neon Beasts – On Kickstarter with Demo

“Inspired by games such as TimeSplitters, Hotline Miami, Madness Combat, and much more.” I’m sold. An early alpha build of a Kickstarter dream developed by a single person that has the beginnings of a stylish and chaotic action shooter. Planned with cola-powered upgrades, a compelling story, and lots and lots of blood.

Nadir – On Kickstarter with Demo

Roguelike. Deckbuilder. My two weaknesses. Well how about one inspired by the stroll through hell right out of Dante’s Inferno with incredible hand-drawn art and an insane metal soundtrack?! Choose wisely how to spend your limited days resting and fighting enemies in order to grow strong enough to take on the Floor Guardian. “Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.”

ULTRAKILL – Demo on Steam

DAMN, ULTRAKILL is fun! Combining a combo system from the likes of Devil May Cry with a retro ultra-violent shooter full of crazy weaponry and unique upgrades works wonders, but then refining it with modern controls that are buttery-smooth takes it to a while new level. Chock full of secrets and challenges and blood, ULTRAKILL is the making of a masterpiece that its time in Early Access will only further shine to a glowing finish.

Rise of the Betrayer – Demo on Steam

Whilst it starts out clunky and awkward, Rise of the Betrayer really start to come together as a metroidvania when the player builds out the character’s ability upgrades and magical attacks, making navigation and combat way more engaging with each new unlock.

Until We Die – Demo on Steam

Command, train, and protect a slowly growing team of helpers in order to fend off the devastating onslaught of monsters. Manage your resources and stamina. Make tough decisions about how to spend the precious little time you have and where to divert your energy. Should you focus on expanding out to push the creatures back or hole up and upgrade what you already have? Can you survive the night?

Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit – Demo on Steam

Help the reaper manage the balled up anger of dead spirits by completing unfinished business for them in the world of the living. Use the power to posses enemies in order to destroy weapons, kill guards, and save captives in this ghastly stealth/action chiller.

Anew: The Distant Light – Demo on Steam

A metroidvania game full of abilities, combat, and vehicles needed to recover parts and repair your home ship. Uncover the story of what happened to the only other person aboard and escape the hostile alien world shown through a unique visual style.

Oddventure – On Kickstarter with Demo on Steam

A hilarious turn-based RPG that plays on the ability to impact the mood of both characters and enemies. Wrapped in an emotional narrative and set in a wonderfully warped fantasy land that one can only assume is the shared imagination of the protagonist and her younger brother, Oddventure lets the player choose to do the right thing.

Of Bird and Cage – Demo on Steam

A dramatic story-focused game driven by the protagonist’s abusive past and drug-fuelled present that suddenly explodes into a musical horror/puzzle game?! A fantastic and absurd take on storytelling through music and the moral decisions you’re forced to make.

Ultreïa – Demo on Steam

In a mad hunt for the head of their friend’s killer, a small robot is sent on a quest to look inwards and find the true meaning of existence by travelling to a distant planet, Ultreïa. Getting there won’t be easy and with nothing to their name, our little droid must use anything they can find in this lovely point-and-click adventure game full of interesting characters and fun puzzle-solving.

LightBreak– On Kickstarter with Demo

A quirky and simple music puzzle game about matching notes around the different edges of magical cubes in order to progress the plot, told through short bursts of animation.

Elementite – Demo on Steam

A third-person action-fest complete with elementally-enhanced guns, time-stopping combat abilities, and a unique story. Although there’s still a lot to be done before Elementite is ready for a full release, the interesting foundation built around crazy combos and fun encounters is a peek at what is to come.
