Dem Oh! Round Up Feature Art

Dem-OH! Jul/Aug/Sep Round-up

Excuse me, it’s the middle of WHAT month?!?!

After building up and switching over to a new machine as well as changing ISPs, my demo streams as of late have been an absolute nightmare. Non-stop issues with messed-up recordings and even worse live video encoding really got me down on the whole thing. Not to mention how busy life has gotten out of nowhere!

BUT WE’RE FINALLY BACK! After some heavy troubleshooting and tons of tests, it’s time to make up for the past three months of half-assery in time for the end of the year.

So here’s what I did manage to get done during the months – enjoy!

Oh! And it’s been a whole year since I posted about finding and rescuing little baby Vincent; how the time flies…

Stand-Out Demos

(in recording order)

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers Demo on Steam

This_hole_was_made_for_me.jpg. What a beautiful blend of simple iconic blackjack, the contemporary rise of the deck-builder, TCG shenanigans, and Monthy Python-esque humour. There’s no part of this I didn’t absolutely love: it’s fast to jump in to, learn, and play; there’s a world of decisions and depth to the gameplay; and boy does it ping that part of the monkey brain that wants to risk it all on just one more hit. I mean, it’s definitely the most complete card game ever made because I’ve never seen a blackjack deck contain a PS1 memory card, a birthday card, or a credit card before! Super excited to see where this goes and can we just say, what a brilliantly perfect name.

NOTE: Ratings are basically representative of how much I enjoyed the demo and the likelihood that I’ll come back to the title in the future (or even would liked to have continued playing it right then), with regards to gameplay, quality, and (of course) personal preference to genre, etc. A zero represents that the game is too non-functional to really get a feel for it. It is essentially a non-rating.
