First US PS3s Are In

Reviews of Genji: Days of the Blade and Tony Hawk’s Project 8 have sprouted over at, and the results aren’t exactly mind-blowing. Tony Hawk scores a respectable 7.3, but the review itself is less hopeful, and complains of missing features and noticeable frame-rate drops. Genji, on the other hand, scores only 6.4, with the review’s summary reading as follows:

“While this action adventure game flexes a bit of the PlayStation 3’s graphical muscle with its mythical Japanese scenery, its rather shallow, derivative gameplay makes it difficult to recommend.”

Obviously we’re only looking at a small sample of the software that’ll be available come launch day, so things could turn around. But with all the bad press surrounding the PS3 lately, Sony really need to start giving us some good news.
