Europe will be PSPless untill Q3 2005 at the earlie

Sony has stated that due to ‘chip shortages’, the PSP will not see a release in Europe and Australia until sometime in the 2nd half of the year.

Due to this fact, Sony has stated that they cannot manufacture enough units to supply demand for both a US and European release. As a result, the European, and Australian, release has been pushed back, with a 3rd quarter release the earliest likely.

Good news for Nintendo in Europe and Australia, with the DS set to launch in Australia later this month and Europe following close behind in mid March. This gives Nintendo a decent headstart.
