EA officially announces Spore Hero for Wii and Spore Hero Arena for DS
EA have announced that two new Spore games will be coming to both Wii and DS later this year. The two games are said to be “built from the ground up” to suit each platform. Their release is set for “this fall”
EA say Spore Hero, which will be coming to the Wii, delivers the “unmatched creative freedom of Spore in an accessible, story-driven action-adventure.” The game will be set in a rich and vibrant 3D world, and will let players take “full advantage” of the Wii controls during “heated battles, humorous missions, and curious” puzzles and more. The Spore Creature Creator will also be on show for the Wii, offering “unparalleled customization.”
The DS version, called Spore Hero Arena, is said to build on the success of Spore Creatures from last year. It will be quite similar to the Wii version, but will feature multiplayer capabilities as players can battle with up to three friends locally or play with a friend over Wi-Fi.
“When Maxis first considered bringing Spore to console players, the Nintendo platforms jumped out as a perfect fit. Whether it is the stylus-driven action of the Nintendo DS or playful controllers of the Wii, the massive Nintendo audience is the ideal home for Spore Hero and Spore Hero Arena,” said Lucy Bradshaw, VP and General Manager at Maxis. “Nintendo fans will love the humor, ability to create their own Hero, fun gameplay and immersive storylines we’re creating for these two games.”
