EA Announces Six Wii Titles

Well, it was kind of expected at first – EA is going to be developing a multitude of titles in the upcoming generation of consoles. Six of those titles have been announced for the Wii (some previously announced), and it would appear that EA has high hopes for Nintendo’s innovation movement. According to EA, these are only six of several titles already in development for the Wii that have yet to be announced.

The six announced EA titles are:

The Godfather

Harry Potter

Tiger Woods PGA Tour

SSX

Madden NFL 07

Need for Speed Carbon

In many circumstances, one must ponder on how this experienced developer will incorporate the Wii into the franchises – will the Wii-mote be Harry Potter’s wand? Will SSX handle similarily to Activision’s Tony Hawk? Only time and EA can tell.

Once we started to experiment with Madden on Wii, there was an explosion of innovation. Everyone in the studio is energized by the creative opportunity afforded by both the hardware and controller. By reaching into our catalogue, we are able to bring a fresh and distinctive experience to some of EA’s most popular franchises. Creatively, the gameplay possibilities are staggering and endless,” Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA, John Schappert, praises.
