DS Lite Goes On Sale Then Sells Out

The Akihabara district of Tokyo was alive to lines of eager gamers earlier today, as Nintendo’s DS Lite went on sale. Stores sold out of the new improved gadget within hours of opening. Yasushi Kato, deputy store manager at Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba said, “Sales are much faster than when (the original) DS went on sale.”

Originally, the company had planed to ship 1 million lites to stores all over Japan in the month of March but due to manufacturing difficulties the planned releases of Enamel Navy and Ice Blue were delayed and only 93k DS lites Crystal whites went on sale on the day of launch.

Count yourself very lucky if you get one on import any time soon!
