Double Fine Kickstarter ends at over 8x original goal, shoes placed atop heads

The Double Fine Kickstarter endevor has ended after running for a month – finally topping out at $3,335,205.

That number is over eight times the original goal of $400,000 that was asked for at the beginning of the campaign 30 short days ago. The guys at Double Fine ran a live video feed to thank everyone that contributed during the final hours of the campaign, which ended with a rendition of “We Are The Champions.” Stuff like this also happened – thanks to NeoGAF for the screen caps:

Double Fine now have to actually make a game after the huge outpouring of community love – no pressure there then!

During the video feed, it was commented that development of the game could take around a year – although that is in no way confirmation that the game will release March 2013 – a lot could happen between then a now.
