Crytek likely to work on consoles
The latest issue of PC Play magazine has revealed that the president of the Crytek, Cevat Yerli, has commented that due to some of the failings in the PC gaming industry it is likely future efforts from the studio could head to consoles at the same time as their PC counterparts. The magazine asked him if he thought it would be risky staying with the PC-only approach the company is well know for and he candidly replied saying that brining consoles into the mix might be the best way forward for the company.
“It is certainly. We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis. We seem to lead the charts in piracy by a large margin, a chart leading that is not desirable. I believe that’s the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy. To the degree PC Gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform, ” he comments “Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more. It was a big lesson for us and I believe we wont have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future. We are going to support PC, but not exclusive anymore.”
