Console gamers are dumber than PC counterparts says mystery publisher

Even though Double Fine’s Adventure and inXile’s Wasteland might be getting all the love right now, Christian Allen has a video game Kickstarter too, which is all about brining a crowdsourced Hardcore Tactical Shooter to gamers. He tried to offer it to publishers, but they said no countless times.

“It’s like pitching a flight sim,” Allen comments to Kotaku. He goes onto mention the reasons publisher give for not backing the game with their money.

“‘It’s a super-vocal audience.’ ‘They don’t buy a lot of games.’ ‘They buy one game a year.’ ‘Console gamers are too impatient; they won’t play this kind of game.’ Console gamers literally are too dumb to play this kind of game,” were some of the replies he got back.

Kotaku questioned Allen on which publisher uttered that somewhat offensive remark, but he would not say who he heard it from.

“I won’t say which publisher, but, yes, literally, ‘console gamers are not as smart as PC gamers.’ The logic is that, well PC gamers can install drivers and video cards. Console gamers are just 15-year-olds who sit in front of their couch and press a button.”

Allen has previous worked on multiple efforts in the Ghost Recon franchise and Halo: Reach, so he should have the gumption to build a decent game – should he get funded.
