Capcom name and detail Dead Rising Wii

After the game first appeared during the course of last week there has been a fair bit of speculation as to what Dead Rising Wii will bring to the table, and what kind of game it will be. Thankfully, today Capcom have ended that speculation, and have issued a press release about the title. In the PR they comment that the game will be called Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, and it will be based on the version of Dead Rising released on the 360. They also confirmed that the game would hit store shelves this Winter.

The rest of the PR goes on to detail the game, and it seems it plays just like the 360 version, albeit scaled back to better suit the power of the Wii. They also comment that players can throw weapons and shake off zombie attacks with added Wii Remote functionality. Once again, all of the items in the shopping centre will be available to use as players manoeuvre Frank West through a selection of mission. They can consume food and drink to revive health, and snatch items from different stores to use as weapons.

Capcom also cite that the game utilizes the same engine as Resident Evil 4 Wii edition which will apparently make the game a more “immersive, intuitive and interactive experience.” The company also say that Dead Rising Wii will boast “improved save functionality,” but they don’t go on to say what exactly makes it better than the 360 version.
