Bioshock has been pulled from the App Store

The iPhone and iPad versions of the hugely popular game Bioshock are no longer available to purchase or download from the App Store. The worst part is the game has been completely delisted from the store meaning even if you already own it you won’t be able to download it. It was originally considered to be a good port of the game but recently it has been unplayable on devices updated beyond iOS version 8.4. 2K had promised a patch to solve the games problems but that seems unlikely now.

2K have responded to a fan: “I understand you’re having issues with Bioshock for mobile gaming. Unfortunately, you are correct we don’t currently have this game for mobile gaming anymore, which I know can be frustrating. The removal of the game was a developer decision. This happens occasionally, but thankfully not often.” The 2K representative goes on to say that Apple will help anyone who has previously purchased the game to get a refund and finished up by saying “again , I am terribly sorry for this experience, but I hope that Apple can clear this up for you as soon as possible.”

While it’s sad to see a developer completely remove their game from a store, and sad that fans have to go through the hassle of reaching out to Apple for a refund, there might just be a silver lining. A current-gen Bioshock Collection has recently been leaked for a November release date and this should be the definitive way to play the game, so a least fans have something to look forward to.
