ATI’s X700 hits Notebook PC’s – It can only mean good

The X700 as we know it sports 8 Pixel Pipelines, in contrast to the X800 Pro which sports 12. It has 6 Vertex Engines, and support for either 128-Bit DDR, DDR2 or GDDR 3 RAM. The X700 is positioned as a main-stream model, where the X300 and X600 are entry models and X800 and X850 high end.

Build on the 110nm process the X700 sports some features that the X800 also sports. like VideoShader HD support, LCD contrast enhancement – and of course HyperMemory, ATI’s technical of sharing system memory for graphical applications.

Whilst things are still a little scant yet, according to ATI, Acer, Asus, Alienware, Eurocom, Fujitsu, Gateway, Lenovo, Sony, and Toshiba are all expected to be customers and take the card up for their laptops.
