ArmA II set for late June release in Europe
505 Games and Bohemia Interactive have announced that ArmA II, the latest title in the ArmA series, will be hitting Euro shores on June 26th exclusive to PC.
ArmA II is going in direct competition to Codemaster’s Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising, and is developed by the team that used to work on that series in the past. However, after legal issues reared their head Bohemia Interactive moved onto work on the ArmA series
“It has been a pleasure building on the success of the first ArmA title,” commented Alex Price, Senior Global Brand Manager, 505 Games. “ArmA has such a vociferous community behind it that we new we had to get this one absolutely right. We are confident that the dedicated fans won’t be disappointed as will as any newcomers to the series.”
505 boast that ArmA II has the most realistic depiction of warfare ever seen in a game. According to them, this can only be achieved due to the use of Bohemia’s 3rd generation game engine that has been in constant development for 10 years. The same engine was used in the first effort in the Operation Flashpoint series, Cold War Crisis.
