AQ Announces Titles

Last October saw the founding of new games publisher AQ (Artistic Quality) Interactive. The publisher has already released Tetris The Grand Master Ace as a Japanese Xbox 360 launch title, but on Wednesday announced several other titles for varying platforms.

The company also reported that it was working as a publisher for three group development studios, Artoon, Feel Plus, and Cavia. The companies are currently assisting Mistwalker on that developers two announced titles. Artoon is helping with Blue Dragon and Feel Plus is assisting with Lost Odyssey. The company reports that there is an approximate total of 350 people working under the three developers on games.

PSP will see the likes of Onimyou Nikki, and an original RPG, both from AQ Interactive.

PS2 will be getting a girl-friendly game based from a major comic license.

In addition to Vampire’s Rain (mentioned below), another 3D game was announced. All we know is that it’s being worked on and that it’s 3D.

As for the Nintendo DS, an adventure game and an edutainment game are both in the works.

An unexpected announcement, the Nintendo Revolution will see an action game, and like the PS2, a game based off of a major comic book license. Whether or not the two are the same, the answer has yet to be revealed.

The Xbox360 is clearly the crowd favourite over at AQ Interactive as it has a whopping amount of titles announced aside from Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

The first game of many in addition to previously-announced Mahjong is Bullet Witch. The game is being developed by Cavia and is a fantasy action-adventure title that takes place in 2013. Fans of the genre should keep their eyes peeled for snippets of info on this title.

While being primarily released on Xbox360, Artoon’s Vampire’s Rain will also be released on the Playstation 3. Naoto Oshima, well known for his role in the creation of Sonic the Hedgehog, will be working directly on the title and promises that it will make vampires scary again. A trailer for the game was shown at the press-conference.

The third announced title for the 360 is Cry-on being developed by Mistwalker and Cavia. The game will be another action-adventure and Mistwalker founder Hironobu Sakaguchi promises that it will be an emotional experience.

For a company as short-lived as AQ Interactive, this string of titles and major announcements should certainly put the developer/publisher on several gamers’ radars.
